A dry day and a walk up Haystacks.  Wainwright adored Haystacks, calling it “the best fell-top of all” for its “beauty, variety and interesting detail”. He famously described it as a “shaggy terrier in the company of foxhounds” due to its unique, rugged character amidst more imposing neighbours.
